THE NAME

Findeisen is an old Saxon family name that originated in the Ore Mountains around the small town of Zschopau. The ancestors of the Findeisen family lived in this area as early as the late 18th century. In the Middle Ages, Findeisen was a common name for journeymen blacksmiths. Even today you can find the name most often in the so-called Christmasland.

THE ORIGIN

In the 1960s, Max Findeisen (1907 - 1973) redesigned the dial of a wristwatch with the Findeisen name and thus created the base for the idea that would lie dormant for many decades before being realized. It was not until 50 years later that Findeisen's great-grandson, Martin Zettl, revived the idea of a watch brand called FINDEISEN.

INSPIRED BY HISTORY

In 2017 the brand was registered and the ideas for the first models took shape. In 2019 FINDEISEN presented the first 3-hand watch "Allenstein" and the chronograph "Königsberg". Both models are a tribute to Martin Zettl's great-grandfathers: some of Max Findeisen's ancestors came from the area of Gerdauen in the historical province of East Prussia. Even more, it is a symbol of reconciliation, understanding and friendship with the countries in which these cities are now located under their new names.

REAL INDEPENDENCE

2021 saw the launch of the F-1253 diver's watch. In addition to the manufacture caliber FW 4251, FINDEISEN focused on a sporty and independent design with numerous innovations. With dials made of one piece, including the indices, and a movement bearing made of EPDM rubber, the F-1253 impresses true water sports enthusiasts above all with its diver's clasp that can be extended by up to 26 mm.

A STATEMENT WITHOUT WORDS

With the NauticMaster, the F-1253 has been further developed and its profile comprehensively re-sharpened. In addition to the reuse of the FW-4251 manufacture caliber, the bezel has been given a DLC-coated inlay on which all the elements glow in the dark. The red ring underscores the sporty nature of this timepiece, while the date is moved to 6 o'clock for a harmonious symmetry. The recognition of a FINDEISEN watch has been perfected with the NauticMaster.

MADE IN NUREMBERG

All FINDEISEN watches are designed, developed and assembled in a small factory in the old town of Nuremberg. Only Swiss or German automatic movements, the best stainless steel, sapphire crystals and high quality applied dials are used for our watches. The symbiosis of these factors, combined with excellent workmanship, guarantees you timepieces of the highest quality.

THE REALIZATION OF AN IDEA

When he chose a career as a merchant in his youth, the realization of a watch brand was definitely not on his agenda. It was only at the age of 35 that Martin Zettl decided to realize his great-grandfather's idea. But what characterizes the Findeisen brand?
