Doch worauf sollten Sie beim Uhrenkauf wirklich achten? Unsere Uhrenberatung hilft Ihnen dabei, die richtige Entscheidung zu treffen.

Why a Findeisen watch?

What should you look out for when buying a watch?

1. The movement: mechanical or quartz?

A mechanical movement often appeals to lovers of classic watchmaking, while quartz watches are known for their precision and suitability for everyday use. While a quartz movement usually consists of just a few components, a mechanical movement is a complex and sophisticated drive with well over 100 individual parts. The invention of self-winding movements dates back to the first half of the 19th century. At Findeisen, you will only find high-quality wristwatches with mechanical movements and automatic winding.

2. The design: your personality on the wrist

A watch is more than just a timepiece - it is an expression of your personality. Whether sporty, elegant or minimalist - you will find the model that suits you.

Findeisen watches are manufactured in Nuremberg. The city where the “Nürnberger Uhr” was invented as early as 1374 and where Peter Henlein invented and manufactured the first watches “that could be taken anywhere” in the 16th century. Peter Henlein is regarded in watchmaking circles as the inventor of the pocket watch. Findeisen marks the return of mechanical watches to the city of Nuremberg.

3. The material: decisive for look & feel

The choice of material plays a major role not only for the look, but also for the longevity of your watch. The quality of the steel determines how the surface can be treated. Depending on the model, we offer polished, brushed and bead-blasted surfaces for our watches. Each surface treatment results in a very individual feel.

4. The right size for your wristwatch

When choosing the size of a watch, the diameter is not the only decisive factor. Much more important for a perfect look on your wrist is the size of its upper contact surface (blue line in the picture) .

For example, if you have a surface area of approx. 5.5 cm, watches with a distance between the prongs of up to 52 mm are easy to wear. Another important factor here is the angle of the lugs. The more ergonomically it fits your wrist, the more comfortable the watch is for you to wear and the top-heaviness of a watch is minimized.

In the picture: Our Königsberg chronograph has a diameter of 44 mm (green), the distance between the lugs is 52 mm (red). The bezel has a width of 4 mm (yellow). This results in a dial opening of only 36 mm (purple). This fact contributes to the fact that this relatively large watch always looks harmonious, even on narrower wrists.

In addition to the diameter of the watch, its height and overall length are also crucial for it to look perfect on your wrist.
